Information for CPPC 2013 participants

Dear CPPC 2013 Participant,


As the date of the 2nd International Conference on Positive Psychology in the Czech Republic (CPPC 2013) is approaching, let us provide you with useful information and detailed guidelines for oral and poster presentations.

You can find the CPPC 2013 Scientific Program at the conference website: 

The conference will take place at Faculty of Economics, Masaryk University in Brno, Lipova 41a street.
Registration of the conference participants will start on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 9:00am at the Conference venue. 
The pre-conference workshops will take place from 9:30am to 12:00pm in rooms No. P2, P3, P10 and P11. All workshop rooms will be clearly marked with name of the workshop. 

The conference program will start with Opening Ceremony in the main Conference Hall (room No. P1) on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 2:00pm and will be followed by invited lectures by leading experts in positive psychology.
At 6pm all conference participants are cordially invited to join the Welcome Party featuring a live Czech folk music performance, which will take place in the foyer of the Conference venue.

On Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, 2013, the conference program will offer number of 
invited lectures, oral presentations in parallel sessions and poster sessions, according to the Scientific Program schedule. 

The Conference Closing Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 24, at 3:30pm.

Useful Information:

All conference rooms are air-conditioned, fully equipped  with modern presentation technology and wheelchair access. 

There will be PC room with limited number of computers and internet connection available for the CPPC 2013 participants.

You will be offered a refreshment during the coffee breaks, which are parts of the Conference service. If needed, you can use also Cafeteria in the foyer where the cool drinks, hot beverages and several kinds of meals are available for very good prices (currency: Czech crown, CZK). Opening hours of the Cafeteria are 8:00am to 8:00pm.

The weather in the Czech Republic in May is supposed to be very pleasant, about 20 to 25 Celsius degrees, but we can also experience warmer or colder days (if rain comes). We kindly ask you to check the weather forecast for Brno before your departure and adjust your staff accordingly.

Guidelines for Oral and Poster Presentations:

The duration of ORAL presentation in Parallel Sessions will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion.
All presenters are kindly asked to upload their presentations to the PC in the specific conference room at least 20 minutes before their session starts. We recommend you to have your presentation on your USB / memory stick as well as backed up on a server (Drop-box etc). 

Conference PCs are equipped with MS Office 2010 and  Open Office. Thus, you can use both ppt and/or pptx format for your Power point presentation. To avoid any difficulties with opening the file, we kindly recommend you to have your presentation also in pdf format.
In case of any need, there will be technical & IT support during the conference.

The POSTER presentations are scheduled on Thursday, May 23. 
Size of a poster should be max.70 cm (width) x 90 cm (height).

Authors of the posters are kindly asked to display their poster on the panel with corresponding number. The posters will be fitted on panels with pins, which will be provided by organizers.
All posters can be displayed on Thursday morning and they can be exhibited throughout the day. 

There will be two Interactive Poster Sessions. We kindly ask presenters of the posters to be personally present at their posters during following time slots:
Poster Session I. (PS01 – PS13) Thursday, May 23, 2013, 10:45am - 11:15am
Poster Session II. (PS14 – PS27) Thursday, May 23, 2013, 3:30pm – 4:00pm
